Food: Need, Greed & Myopia
Monica Frisch was introduced to Geoffrey Yates by mutual friends. Geoffrey Yates had been teaching an adult education course on world food issues, from a vegetarian/vegan perspective and wanted to publish his notes. With experience gained from her involvement with Tyneside Free Press Workshop and with helping to produce newsletters for voluntary organisations, she felt that it would be possible and preferable to produce something better than duplicated A4 sheets and became involved in editing and laying out the first edition of Food: Need, Greed & Myopia. Because of the author’s extensive contacts, particularly with the Vegan Society, the book was a success and a completely revised, much more professionally produced edition was published in 1986. This too is now out of print. Geoffrey Yates died in ????
